Risk assessment commissions inspect tourist sites in Cata Bay after seismic events

In continuity with prevention and public safety deployments, the municipal authorities carried out a day of support and technical risk inspection for tourism service providers who live in the private sector of Cata Bay, in the Ocumare municipality of the Gold Coast of the state of Aragua.

During the field approach, officials carried out an eye evaluation of 14 commercial establishments in the coastal area, in order to determine the conditions of their infrastructures after the double earthquake of last June 24, according to a press release from the Ocumare de la Costa Mayor's Office.

After the preliminary technical diagnosis, it was found that the structures suffered significant damage, specifically identifying two premises whose facilities are completely uninhabitable or unsuitable for commercial operation due to the level of structural commitment.

This oversight and early monitoring faithfully responds to the protection guidelines issued by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, the governor Johana Sánchez and the mayor of the town, Wilmer Leal, aimed at mitigating vulnerabilities and ensuring safe spaces for both beach workers and seasonal workers.

The local executive, together with security and disaster management agencies, will continue to prepare the corresponding reports to evaluate actions and coordinate the necessary institutional support in the affected areas of the coastal strip.
