On June 26, 1908, in the city of Santiago de Chile, the eternal president of the rebellious and revolutionary southern nation, Salvador Allende, a distinguished revolutionary who won the presidency through elections, was born to lead what would be the first revolution to achieve the power of a Republic by peaceful means.

As a surgeon by profession, Allende never concealed his affinity for the struggles of the humble, a characteristic that led him to study socialist doctrines and to become part of the Socialist Party of Chile, of which he founded and promoted his active participation in the electoral scene, which led this awning to become a force within the southern nation.

This is how he became a senator in the Chilean Congress, where he came to preside over this upper house, and later after his participation in several elections as a presidential candidate, until on September 4, 1970, he managed to be elected by the majority of the Chilean people.

Fulfilling his promises and as a faithful believer in social justice, he began a series of actions aimed at favoring the people, which aroused the anger of imperialism and the Chilean bourgeoisie, who in alliance began a political and economic escalation to, as ordered by the then President of the United States, Richard Nixon, to “make the Chilean economy scream”.

After several years of resistance on the part of this distinguished revolutionary and the majority of the Chilean people, on September 11, 1973, treason broke out within the Armed Forces of this country, and the coup d'etat led by the CIA agent, Augusto Pinochet, who, faced with Allende's refusal to resign and leave the country, ordered the assassination of this distinguished revolutionary through the bombing of the Presidential Palace of La Moneda

Today, this beacon of dignity and gallantry, the peoples of our America, raise their giant hands to fight imperialism until they achieve victory, and thus fulfill their last will, when in the midst of the bombing and with a calm voice he said:

“Workers of my country: I have faith in Chile and its destiny. Other men will overcome this gray and bitter moment, where betrayal seeks to prevail. Keep in the knowledge that, much sooner rather than later, you will once again open the great avenues through which free men pass to build a better society.”
