Scientific Seedbeds bring joy and knowledge to patients at the Caracas Children's Cardiology Center

As part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Dr. Gilberto Rodríguez Ochoa Latin American Children's Cardiological Hospital, a special day of the Scientific and Technological Vacation Plan was held this Thursday, aimed at 25 children and young patients who had surgery at the institution.

During the meeting, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MNCYT), the participants enjoyed a cycle of recreational and educational experiences designed to awaken the scientific vocation and strengthen the processes of recovery and social integration of boys and girls.

Among the stations, demonstrations of applied robotics, interactive chemistry experiments focused on reactions with changes in color and atmospheric pressure, neuroscience activities, as well as dynamics of astronomy and satellite science stood out.

In this regard, the sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Isabel Iturria, highlighted the importance of carrying out these scientific-technological activities in the facilities of the hospital center, highlighting the benefits of recreational learning within the patients' health process: “Children who had surgery in previous years who had the opportunity to heal their hearts thanks to this extraordinary work of the Bolivarian Government, are with their peers. It's part of rehabilitation: children playing, children learning while they play, doing rehabilitation integrated with happiness, with the future, which is what we always seek with the surgeries we do.”
