SENIAT activated a Customs Selectivity Committee to simplify processes

The National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT), activated a working group headed by the national mayor of Customs, Eduardo Hurtado, together with the technical teams responsible, for the installation of the Customs Selectivity Committee, according to the institution's social networks.

This initiative seeks to ensure greater agility in the dispatch of goods and domestic and international trade, SENIAT reported on its Instagram account.

This mechanism establishes the technical criteria that are part of good international practices and allow the classification of imported or exported goods, in order to determine when it is appropriate to apply the revision of containers in accordance with risk management and administration.

Each of the variables and technical factors makes it possible to determine the risk traffic light, whose scheme establishes that the items that are assigned to the green channel do not require physical or documentary recognition to proceed to their dispatch expeditiously.

On the other hand, the yellow stripe implies only the verification of documentation, while the red channel contemplates integrated physical and documentary recognition, complying with international standards in the field.

This Selectivity Committee is part of the customs modernization plan that seeks to provide greater agility to foreign trade operations, maintaining adequate control mechanisms and ensuring effective collection.
