Seven swimmers sign double in Cumaná in the XIX Open Water Championship

The 3, 5 and 10 kilometer events left an outstanding crop of titles during the XIX Open Water Championship held on the shores of Playa San Luis in Cumaná.

The newt from the Mirandino club Emil Friedman, Abraham Pérez, was the most prominent figure in the competition, winning the two gold medals in the elite category for 20 to 24 years after dominating the 5 km with 54:34:86 and in the 10 km he left a mark of 1:57:43:10, according to the Ministry of Sports Press.

The top women's category also had a lone winner through the representative of the Galician Brotherhood of Maracay, Génesis Logart, who won the 5 km when the clock stopped at 1:05:36.43 and the 10 km with 2:28:15.25.

In the minor categories, Yara Rodríguez (14-15 years old) dominated the 5 km with 1:02:44.39 and the 10 km with 2:26:54.31; Franjeni Sánchez (16-17) won the 5 km with 1:02:44.50 and the 10 km with 2:20:26.15; Dagne Carvajal (18-19 years old) won the 5 km with 1:03:49.03 and the 10 km with 2:20:27.25.

In the men's division, Juan Oyalbis (14-15) led the 10 km with a record of 2:10:29.59, Mixael Gil (16-17) took the honors in 5 km with 56:40.41 and 10 km with 2:03:46.54; Yadier Lemus (18-19) won the 5 km with 55:49.08 and the 10 km with 2:04:19.68

In the women's 3 km, Dagne Carvajal (18-19) led with a record of 50:39.74.

The performance at Playa San Luis left a clear sign of the growth of the new generations of open water, who shone in different categories and distances to score points for the national ranking.
