It is seven years since the frustrating assassination against the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, through a plan executed by factors of the extreme opposition right under orders from the United States (USA).

August 4, 2018, marked the 81st anniversary of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), when two drones loaded with explosives detonated with the intention of ending the life of President Maduro and the national authorities present there, one exploded outside its original target, on top of the military parade, injuring several cadets and GNB personnel; and the second detonated near a residential building, causing the burning of an apartment without fatalities. Both devices managed to be diverted with defense mechanisms from the Venezuelan security forces.

The drones were purchased online in the United States and transferred to a farm in Colombia, where they practiced the flight of the devices in a sector of the municipality of Chinácota. They were equipped with C-4 explosives with high destructive power in an operation they named “Yunque-Martillo”.

Funding was determined from the United States and Colombia. Two of the alleged financiers were identified as Rayder Alexander Russo Márquez and the retired colonel of the GNB, Oswaldo Valentín García Palomo, residents in Colombia. Another financier, based in the United States (USA), goes by the name of Osman Alexis Delgado Tabosky.

The Venezuelan opposition, through fake news, tried to downplay the serious event against President Maduro, who was accompanied during the event by the first female combatant and by senior military commanders.

They are linked to Colombian government officials in planning terrorist acts, combined with the factors of the Venezuelan extreme right, and the direct participation of the then New Granada president of Juan Manuel Santos, who was currently preparing to leave before the election of Iván Duque.

In addition, Peruvian journalist Jaime Bayly, host of a television program in Miami (USA), confessed that there was a meeting in that country to plan the attack against the Venezuelan Head of State.

“We managed to overcome the frustrated attempt of the extremist right to end the Bolivarian Revolution through violence and fear, thanks to the spirituality, the infinite love of our people and the protection of La Chinita. Let us remember that the path to resolving differences will always be through democratic and peaceful means. Peace will always triumph!” , said the national president in August 2020.

It is worth noting that President Maduro remains firm in the leadership of the government, always with the Chavista and Bolivarian ideals as the standard of struggle.
