The Simón Bolívar School Ship sets sail next Saturday, March 21, its thirty-sixth Overseas Instructional Cruise with a crew full of will to sail the seas.
The captain of the “Ambassador Without Borders”, Carlos Santos, in statements to VTV, confirmed that the cadet staff will carry a message of peace and Venezuelan kindness to each planned destination on a journey that will help future officers to perfect their knowledge in astronomy, navigation and marine arts.
Santos stressed that the group has a lot of courage to cross the Caribbean Sea and consolidate itself as naval men capable of deftly defending themselves at sea through the constant practice of nautical traditions.
For his part, the general commander of the Bolivarian Navy, Ashraf Suleimán Gutiérrez, explained that the vessel will sail more than 4,200 nautical miles with a contingent of 200 people on board, including 120 cadets in training.
He also pointed out that the ship will visit Granada, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Mexico and Cuba, which represents an extraordinary experience on a traditional warship.
The Admiral stressed that this trip will reinforce students' technical abilities while carrying out the diplomatic peace mission entrusted by the institution.
The young people who make up this expedition belong to the different academies of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela and maintain the willingness to train as integral men and women at the service of the nation.
The passage through international waters will strengthen ties of fraternity and showcase Venezuelanism in every port.
