The urban search and rescue group USAR 13 in Spain categorically denied the versions that indicated an alleged blockade by the Caracas authorities to enter Venezuelan territory, following the devastating earthquake of last June 24, Telesur said.
Through an official statement, the team made up of professionals and specialized volunteers clarified that they have all the institutional permits validated by the Venezuelan Embassy in Spain. They also emphasized that their deployment responds strictly to humanitarian cooperation, completely dissociating their mission from any political motivation.
The members of USAR 13 reported that the contingent is already in transit to the country to immediately join the rescue and assistance tasks for the victims.
