Supreme Court ordered the restart of Halliburton oil company operations in Venezuela

The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) ordered the resumption of production operations in the country of the American oil company Halliburton, in accordance with ruling number 327 of the Social Chamber.

By means of a precautionary measure, the court restored to the company the use of the seized assets, considering that they are strategic for the national hydrocarbons industry.

The decision, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), empowered Servicios Halliburton de Venezuela, S.A. to use, manage and exploit the returned assets, in order to maintain the continuity of its activities and guarantee the development of its corporate purpose.

In the ruling, the Supreme Court ordered that the current judicial depositary hand over the seized movable and immovable property to the company, so it commissioned the Execution Court based in Cabimas, Zulia state.

The ruling also appointed a judicial overseer to monitor compliance and his functions include drawing up an inventory and submitting regular reports on the execution of the decision.
