The Chicago White Sox, of the Major League Baseball (MLB), immortalized Venezuelan Oswaldo Guillén with a long and emotional ceremony where they withdrew his remembered number 13 within the organization.
During the tribute, prior to the match between the White Sox and the Cleveland Guardians, Ozzie couldn't contain his excitement after seeing all the love he received from all the fans present at Rate Field.
The number 13 Guillén was placed in the part of the grandstand of the gardens, right next to the number 11 of his compatriot Luis Aparicio, who was the first Venezuelan to achieve that feat in an organization. Apart from Oswaldo and Aparicio, the other Venezuelan who managed to get his number removed from a franchise was David Concepción.
