On November 30, 2000, the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Health Agreement began, with the flight to Havana with the first 46 Venezuelan patients.
This was possible thanks to the brotherly relations between the two countries, created by Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro with the objective of strengthening quality and free health for the Venezuelan people.
This agreement was signed on November 30 of the same year, “aware of their common interest in promoting and encouraging the progress of their respective economies and the reciprocal advantages that result from cooperation that has effective results in the economic and social advancement of the respective countries and the integration of Latin America and the Caribbean,” reads the full text published on the website of the Cuban embassy in Venezuela.
This social program has served thousands of Venezuelans in these 25 years of commitment to the people.
