The play “Granada, Treason and Crime” will offer four new performances in Caracas

After gathering more than 800 spectators in its first performances, the play “Granada, Betrayal and Crime”, a production by the National Theatre Company (CNT), will return to the stage from September 17 to 20 with four new performances.

The production, co-directed by Rufino Dorta, Carlos Arroyo and Aníbal Grunn, also the author of the dramatic text, pays homage to the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, 90 years after his shooting during the Franco regime.

The proposal brings together 41 artists on stage and has a wide technical layout that allows the public to take a tour of different spaces linked to the Lorquian universe, through references to their poetic and dramatic work.

Grunn stressed the importance of keeping the legacy of the Spanish writer alive. “Lorca was betrayed by his life, he was betrayed by his friends, and many others, least of all artists, have betrayed him. We don't betray Lorca, we vindicate him every day, every moment the curtain comes up,” he emphasized.

The performances take place from Thursday to Sunday, at 7:00 in the evening, at the Alberto de Paz y Mateos Theater, located in the Las Palmas sector, Caracas.
