The National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (UNEFA) celebrates 26 years since its inauguration in 1999, providing educational excellence to the students of this house of study.

On April 26, 1999, Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, through Decree No. 115, established the creation of the National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (UNEFA), formerly IUPFAN, with headquarters in the capital region and centers in different regions of the country.

Its headquarters are located in the city of Caracas with other offices in Maracay, Maracaibo, Valencia and Barinas. It is attached to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), legally and administratively dependent on the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, which trains higher level civil and military university professionals; under a vision of research and technological development, oriented to the comprehensive defense of the nation, in the fields of applied sciences.
