In the context
of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela and the Islamic Republic of Iran, this Tuesday
the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil; the
ambassador of the Persian country accredited to Caracas, Ali Chegini; and the Minister of People's
Power for Transportation and co-president of the Joint Commission binational,
Ramón Velázquez Araguayán, made a floral offering before the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simon Bolivar in the National Pantheon.
The ceremony, in which
the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the
South American nation also participated, is part of the activities scheduled to celebrate this
important date, which represents the beginning of a history of brotherhood,
cooperation and mutual support between the two countries.
On July 29, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a
telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Pezeshkian, with the purpose of
continuing to strengthen the ties of friendship and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
During the
call, both leaders evaluated the excellent state of the
bilateral relationship between sister countries, and agreed that “
strategic cooperation between Iran and Venezuela is going from strength to strength”.
In this regard,
they agreed to celebrate in style the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic
relations and ratified the commitment made within the framework of the 20-year Strategic Cooperation
Agreement, signed in 2022. Among the
sectors that keep growing and constantly evolving, is the area of
energy, science, technology, health, agriculture and industry.
