Venezuela and Peru announce process of resuming diplomatic relations

The Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela reported that together with the Government of
the Republic of Peru, they have decided to begin a progressive process of
comprehensive resumption of bilateral relations, beginning with the reactivation of consular
relations to guarantee the protection and provision of
services to the citizens of both countries.
In addition, in the statement shared by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia, on his Instagram account, it highlights that both nations indicated that this first stage constitutes the initial step towards the full re-establishment of bilateral ties.
In addition, they point out that the decision is based on historic ties of friendship, Latin American solidarity and cooperation, with the purpose of promoting the development and well-being of both peoples.
