The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia, held a meeting this Wednesday with the Apostolic Nuncio and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Venezuela, Monsignor Alberto Ortega Martín, to strengthen relations between the Bolivarian nation and the Vatican.
Through his account on the social network X, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister stressed that during the meeting they agreed to “continue joining efforts in favor of peace, dialogue and solidarity in our country.”
Plasencia noted that, in addition, they agreed “that these values are fundamental to promote understanding, strengthen coexistence and contribute to the well-being of all Venezuelans.”
Venezuela and the Holy See have maintained diplomatic relations since the 19th century, and have remained active through the Apostolic Nunciature in Caracas and the Venezuelan Embassy to the Vatican in Rome.
