Venezuela congratulated the People of Peru on the 205 years of the Proclamation of Independence (+statement)

This Tuesday, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulated the People of the Republic of Peru for the celebration of 205 years of its Proclamation of Independence, on July 28, 1821, a historic event that marked the birth of the Peruvian State and the end of the power of Spain in the capital Lima.

“Venezuela reaffirms, today and always, its vocation of friendship with the Peruvian people and its strongest will to strengthen ties of dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect, for the benefit of both peoples,” the Bolivarian Government said in an official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela extends its most fraternal congratulations to the people of the Republic of Peru on the occasion of the commemoration of the 205th anniversary of the Proclamation of its Independence.

Venezuela pays tribute, on this historic date, to the emancipatory feat initiated by Túpac Amaru II, a hero with an indelible legacy, and culminated by our Liberating Father, Simon Bolivar, together with great men and women who, with their courage and sacrifice, helped to consolidate the birth of the Republic of Peru and to seal the independence of Our America for the construction of a free and sovereign region.

In commemorating this significant date, Venezuela also takes this opportunity to congratulate the people of Peru on the inauguration of their elected president, Keiko Fujimori Higuchi, to whom we wish every success in the exercise of her functions.

Venezuela reaffirms, today and always, its vocation of friendship with the Peruvian people and its strongest will to strengthen ties of dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect, for the benefit of both peoples.
