The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
congratulated the People and Government of the Republic of Colombia on Monday on the 216th
anniversary of their Cry of Independence, which is celebrated every July 20.
In a statement, released by Foreign Minister Félix
Plasencia on his social networks, the Bolivarian Government highlights that this date
“not only represents a fundamental milestone in the emancipatory quest of
Latin America, but also a reflection of the courage, resilience and the
unwavering search for peace and progress that define the Colombian people.”

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulates the people and
Government of the Republic of Colombia on the occasion of the 216th anniversary of the Cry for Independence of the Republic
of Colombia. July 20 not only represents
a fundamental milestone in Latin America's emancipatory quest, but also a
reflection of the courage, resilience and unwavering search for peace and progress that define the Colombian people
.
On this very significant date, Venezuela thanks the
Colombian people and Government for the innumerable expressions of solidarity and humanitarian support
received to help the victims of the double seismic event recorded
last June 24, 2026 in our country. This was a clear example of
the brotherhood that we have built.
Colombia and Venezuela are united by deep historical ties,
shared roots and a firm desire to build a future of cooperation, justice and
prosperity for our peoples. We hope to continue on the path
of understanding, prosperity and cooperation for the mutual benefit of
our sister peoples.
