Venezuela expressed solidarity with Colombia after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake

Through an
official statement, the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and their authorities, expressed its
deepest solidarity and fraternity with the people and the Government of Colombia in the face of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake.
The letter expresses solidarity “with
the families of the victims and with all those who have suffered
material damage and loss”, while reaffirming their commitment to the bonds of brotherhood, cooperation and unity.

The Bolivarian Republic
of Venezuela, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and their authorities, expresses its
deepest solidarity and fraternity with the people and Government of the
sister Republic of Colombia in the face of the strong 7.4 magnitude earthquake that
shook a large part of Colombian territory this morning, August 10, 2026.
Faced with this adversity
affecting our Colombian brothers, Venezuela stands in solidarity with the
families of the victims and with all those who have suffered material damage and loss.
We reaffirm our commitment to the bonds of brotherhood,
cooperation and Latin American unity that unite us as neighboring peoples.
The Venezuelan Government,
through bilateral cooperation mechanisms and civil
protection agencies, makes available to the Colombian Government the sending of groups
of rescuers and necessary humanitarian aid within the framework of
full respect for its sovereignty and self-determination.
We extend our deepest
condolences to the families of the victims and our wishes for a
speedy recovery for the injured and affected areas.
