The Minister of Popular Power for Relations and
Foreign Trade, Félix Plasencia, on behalf of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic
of Venezuela, expressed this Sunday his solidarity with the People and Government of the Republic of Chile in
the face of the intense rains that have hit the country recently.
“Venezuela expresses all its solidarity with the People and
Government of the Republic of Chile, in the context of the intense rains and
strong gusts of wind that have affected various regions of the
country for days, causing regrettable loss of human life and extensive
material damage,” said the Foreign Minister through his social networks.
In this regard, he ratified the willingness of the
Bolivarian Government to support the people and Government of Chile, “in the midst of this complex
situation”, in addition to reaffirming “their full friendship”.
The Chilean government maintains a preventive alert for 10
regions affected by a frontal climate system that generates intense
rains, strong winds and snowfalls since Monday between the north and south
of the country, and which so far has left 4 dead.
The emergency declaration was extended to the
Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaiso, Metropolitan, O'Higgins, Maule, Ñuble, Biobío, La Araucanía and Los Ríos regions until July 21.
