The Venezuelan Chamber of Construction (CVC) plans to build up to 14,000 homes in the short term, said its president, Gustavo García Carrasquero.

The representative said in statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) that the projects are part of the plans maintained by the sector and expressed his expectation that the recently enacted Law for the Promotion and Protection of Housing Construction will help accelerate their execution.

“With recent changes in the law, they can help to optimize construction. Likewise, companies in the sector and public entities must sit down and evaluate which are the priority works,” said the union leader.

In addition, the CVC spokesman considered it necessary to advance international bank financing mechanisms to support construction projects and facilitate the completion of works considered to be priorities.
