Venezuelan Foreign Ministry strengthens union and solidarity in celebration of the Virgin of the Valley

This Tuesday, September 8, authorities and workers from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Trade paid homage to Our Lady of the Valley, through a Eucharist in the Ministerial Tower. The Foreign Ministry traditionally joins this Marian devotion of the Catholic Church, highlighting unity, strength and solidarity in honor of the patron saint of the Venezuelan East.

This commemoration is particularly special because this year it is dedicated to all people affected by the natural disasters that have recently occurred in the country, said Father Geraldino Barrachini, who also shared a liturgical message and spiritual reflection.

“Today we ask God and Mary, the Virgin of the Valley, for the spiritual renewal of all the workers in this important ministerial portfolio; family union and a deep reflection on faith,” he said.

During the solemn Eucharist, Minister Félix Plasencia González reiterated that the Patron Saint of the Venezuelan East “is a profound symbol of faith, identity, hope and protection for the people.”

The diplomat urged the entire workforce to “not lose faith, hope and pride in being Venezuelan and Bolivarian. God and the Queen of the East, also known as the Mother of the Caribbean, accompany and bless our beloved Homeland.”

The religious ceremony was attended by the Deputy Ministers for Latin America and Africa, Mauricio Rodríguez and Yuri Pimentel, respectively; directors, workers and special guests.
