A total of 87 Palestinians have lost their lives in the West Bank as a result of attacks carried out by Israeli settlers since 2019. The figure reflects the constant escalation of aggression in the occupied territories, marked by a worrying upsurge in violence in recent periods.
According to statistics detailed by Salah al Khawaja, director of the Central West Bank Department of the Commission on Resistance to Colonization and the Wall, 25 of these deaths occurred so far this year. The official also told an international media outlet that 61 of the deaths were recorded as of October 7, 2023.
Faced with the deterioration of security in the area, Al Khawaja urgently called on multilateral agencies and bodies to adopt containment measures. The spokesperson emphasized the need to impose direct sanctions against those responsible for these incursions and to ensure the protection of vulnerable localities.
The commission's complaints highlight the impact of armed incursions on the civilian population in the West Bank. The persistence of these events continues to increase tension in local communities, which face a scenario of constant vulnerability.
