With the deployment of protection agencies, the Bolivarian Government strengthens security in La Guaira

To guarantee the peace of mind of the people of the state of La Guaira and to deepen protection, local authorities activated a series of coordinated actions between the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the various citizen security agencies.

68 days after the double earthquake of June 24, the governor of the entity, José Alejandro Terán, reported that crime in the state decreased considerably after the implementation of these measures.

During an official ceremony, in which 10 new vehicle units and 40 motorcycles were delivered, the authorities detailed the progress achieved after the earthquake emergency, with more than 20,523 personnel deployed in the regional territory using 633 vehicles and 876 motorcycles, through operations that covered both the east and the west of the state through more than 200 days of public safety.

Official data from the National Observatory for Citizen Security reflect a substantial improvement in crime rates in the region compared to the previous year period.

The reported achievements include a 5.6% reduction in thefts, a drop of more than 40% in vehicle theft, a 36.6% drop in cybercrime and a decrease of more than 18% in cases of gender-based violence. In addition, the entity did not register any crime of extortion, which represents a 100% eradication of this type of crime.

Currently, the state of La Guaira maintains 73 peace quadrants active for the purpose of preserving public order and increasing territorial protection . The permanent deployment of police and military forces seeks to consolidate the stability of the population after the emergency experienced in the area.
