The Venezuelan Lismar Lyon became the top medalist in the swimming discipline after winning her third consecutive gold, at the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026.
With a formidable performance in the final of the 50-meter freestyle, he once again imposed his hierarchy to win his third gold medal in the joust with a time of 25.13, a mark that was also set as the new record for the event, displacing the record of 25.25 that had been under the name of the Colombian Isabella Arcilla since Cochabamba 2018.
The silver and bronze medals went to the Colombian Sirena Rowe with 25.20 and the Brazilian Luanna Nunes with 25.36, respectively.
This new golden award joins the two that he also won alone in the previous days in the 50 and 100 meters butterfly.
National swimming also brought two silver medals through Manuel Díaz in the 200-meter butterfly and Jorge Otaiza in the 50-meter freestyle.
At the close of the championship, the Venezuelan delegation of the discipline finished in third position with a total of 13 medals, four golds, six silvers and three bronzes.
Brazil topped the medal table with 54 metals (29-16-9) followed by Argentina with 28 totals (7-8-13).
