April 23 was declared World Book Day by UNESCO, in honor of many geniuses of universal literature such as Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, among other authors who were born or died on April 23.

In addition, with the purpose of promoting people to the habit of reading as an instrument for intellectual and cultural development.

“Each book is a world, each book is like a pool in which you dive, a pool of experience, of lights, of knowledge, of wisdom. We are going to dive into the pools of wisdom, in every book, in every letter, in every reading,” Commander Hugo Chávez once said.

In Venezuela, with the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, promotional spaces for reading were opened, such as the Venezuelan Book Fair (FILVEN) created since 2005.
