On September 12, 2008, Commander Hugo Chávez created the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV) as a fundamental axis for the future of the Homeland.

The Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela aims to organize, train and incorporate Venezuelan youth into revolutionary political militancy to radically transform society, working to overcome the forms of exploitation, exclusion, marginalization and discrimination that affect young people, energizing and democratizing the daily spaces of the youth world; to promote equality, freedom and the leading participation of all young people. It assumes anti-imperialism, the fight against poverty and hunger, direct, proactive and participatory participation, the fight against corruption and bureaucratism, the principle of responsibility and co-responsibility, the construction of socialism as the only possible solution, invention, criticism and self-criticism, co-responsibility with the environment and nature, diversity of criteria, the multicultural and the multiethnic, social justice, the construction and strengthening of popular power, solidarity as the central axis of relations humanities, humanism, the rescue of the historical memory and identity of the peoples of our America, internationalism, the Bolivarian ideology, the fight against capitalism and consumerism, in short, the construction of a true society of equals”, reads article 2 of the Statutes of the JPSUV.
