The commanders of the 28 Comprehensive Defense Operational Zones (ZODI) raised their voices in repudiation of the recent statements of a far-right spokesman who called on the United States to militarily attack our country.

The generals, in charge of these territorial groups of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), emphasized that the military institution will remain deployed and alert to ensure the defense of our sovereignty.

In this regard, G/D Gabriel Enrique Magallanes, commander of ZODI Zulia, stressed that these calls are an “infamous demonstration against the dignity of the Venezuelan people” and described as unhappy the statements of Leopoldo López, who would be calling for the assassination of the Commander in Chief of the FANB.

“It's not a political expression, it's an act of cowardice and betrayal of the Fatherland. Those who were born in this land, cry out for the intervention of foreign powers and for bombings that would only bring death and destruction to our people, do not deserve to call themselves Venezuelan. Betrayal of the Fatherland is not a simple phrase, it is a more serious crime, it is a repugnable act that is punishable by law and that attacks the very essence of the Venezuelan nation,” warned the commander of ZODI Falcón, G/D Francisco Moreno.

Meanwhile, the commander of ZODI Yaracuy, G/D Luis Reyes, pointed out that these infamous statements are an act of cowardice that is despised by the FANB and the People. “Those who despise their people and act against the principles of freedom, sovereignty and independence bequeathed by our liberators do not deserve to be called Venezuelans,” he stressed.

The commander of ZODI Apure, G/D Daniel Galarraga, reiterated that the FANB remains loyal and subordinate to President Nicolás Maduro, “who through his leadership and diplomatic actions has maintained peace in our country.”

“We have a duty to defend this Homeland and not allow the cowardice of traitors to jeopardize the integrity of our leaders and our people,” he emphasized.
