ZODI were deployed in maneuvers to bring the FANB to the highest level of operational readiness

To move towards full operational readiness, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) began early this Tuesday morning a series of maneuvers in the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zones (Zodi) of the states of Anzoátegui, Bolívar, Carabobo, Táchira, Amazonas, Zulia, Lara, Falcón, Capital District, Trujillo, Delta Amacuro, Portuguesa, Mérida, La Guaira, Nueva Esparta, Apure, Guárico and Sucre.

This military deployment, framed in Operation Independence 200, involves the execution of Command, Control and Communications exercises.

In this regard, Vice Admiral José Briceño Paniagua, commander of the Zodi La Guaira, confirmed the deployment on the 172 km of coastline and 1,400 km of the territory. He assured, as reported by the newspaper Última Noticias, that his main mission is to prevent any force from reaching Caracas, for which he established blockade points that he described as an impregnable defense.

In this Trujillo state, the governor, Gerardo Márquez, was responsible for the start of this operation, which includes, among other things, the total activation of military and militia resources, in coordination with police forces and community organizations.

During the activity, Márquez reported on the installation of the Integral Defense Commands (CODI) both in the state's main command post and in the 20 municipalities that comprise it.

For his part, G/D Miguel Yilales Arteaga, commander of ZODI Bolívar, pointed out that among the practices that will be carried out in that entity are: Ensuring the integrity of public authorities; developing operations required for the maintenance of public order; carrying out actions for the maintenance, control and restoration of public order, with citizen security bodies under operational control; coordinating the national intelligence and counterintelligence system; maintaining command and control of communications from communal militia units.

From Tumremo, the governor of Guayana Esequiba, Neil Villamizar, indicated that the deployed officials are in a popular military police merger, and that they are integrated as a command.

“We are all here in our Guiana Esequiba, fulfilling the popular mandate [...] This is how we Venezuelans are: united, energetic, dynamic and willing to defend our Homeland,” said the regional president.

Meanwhile, Operation Independence 200 was deployed in the Zulia Integral Defense Operational Zone with the order to carry out the dispersion and preservation of the territorial defensive system to evacuate them to different parts of the entity.

“We are complying with the 27 territorial actions to achieve the optimal point of preparation of the State in perfect popular-military-police fusion and thus guarantee the constitutional rights of Venezuelans, covering the economic, cultural, geographical, political and military spheres and, in this way, fulfilling the objectives of the Homeland Plan,” said members of the Zodi Carabobo.

For its part, in the Zodi Táchira, all strategic facilities are kept protected to establish maximum control of all directions of approach to guarantee sovereignty and independence in the Andean territory.

In Amazonas, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces were deployed at various strategic points in the entity to preserve security and thus prevent attacks by enemy forces.
