1,850 illegal miners were evicted by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) from protected natural areas in the state of Bolivar, reported the Operational Strategic Commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.

The first group of people evicted, as reported by Hernández Lárez, was in the mine called La Colonial in the Caura National Park.

The second batch of evacuees was operating illegally in the El Silencio mine, which was arbitrarily installed in the Imataca Forest Reserve in Bolívar state.

“Citizens are jointly responsible for environmental conservation and protection,” said the senior military officer in his X account.
