2026 Major League Professional Baseball season suspended (+press release)

The president of the Major League of Professional Baseball, Arturo Peraza, announced the suspension of the current tournament season after the strong earthquakes that occurred last June 24 in Venezuela and which also affected the national ball family.

In a statement, the head of the League reported that after holding a brief meeting with the owners of the teams that make up the organization, “the decision was made to officially and permanently suspend the development of the 2026 season.”

The text states that the “decision responds to the deep sense of solidarity with the mourning that today covers thousands of Venezuelan families as a result of the tragedy that our country is going through”.
