Agricultural production in Venezuela grew 5.5% in 2023 (+President Maduro)

This Monday, January 15, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported that agricultural production grew 5.5%, reaching 19 million metric tons of production during 2023 compared to 2022.
In this regard, during his presentation of the Annual Message to the Nation, he explained that the livestock population grew 3.9%. “We can become net exporters of meat, sooner rather than later,” he said and acknowledged the motivation of producers in the livestock sector in Venezuela.
He highlighted that red meat production “was strengthened with the growth of the buffalo herd, which reached 3 million 768 thousand 034 high-quality animals.”
At the same time, he highlighted that Venezuela also experienced great growth in cheese production, ranking as the second largest cheese producer in Latin America and the Caribbean.
