The member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) congratulated the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, its people, and the family of the Venezuelan diplomat, Ambassador Alex Saab, for their release and return to the country.

In a statement, the alliance condemns the procedure applied against Saab in 2020 and calls it a violation of international law and diplomatic principles.

The text also recognizes that Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy is an instrument that guarantees stability in the region and peace for the Venezuelan people.

Below is the press release:

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement joins the joy of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, of its people, and of the family of the Venezuelan diplomat, Ambassador Alex Saab, for their liberation and return to the country.

The kidnapping, for more than 1280 days, of the Saab diplomat, was a procedure contrary to International Law and a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, creating a painful precedent by violating the diplomatic principles recognized and respected by the International Community.

The victory of the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, of the government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, is another demonstration that the route we have undertaken in our America is destined to continue following the path of triumphs and guarantees the prosperity of our free and sovereign peoples.
