The TZ7 unit of the Zulia thermoelectric plant will enter service in the next few hours after completing its reactivation plan, with which 150 megawatts will be added to the National Electric System (SEN), as reported by Diomar Alberto Río, regional manager of Western Thermoelectric Generation and chief manager for the states of Zulia, Lara and Falcón.
“This incorporation will directly benefit an average of 42,000 families in the western region of the country,” said a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Communication and Information.
The spokesperson explained that the unit's test protocol is currently being implemented, as part of the recovery plan being carried out by the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC).
“Right now we are faced with the application of the TZ7 unit test protocol. A unit that comes from a reactivation plan. This unit is going to enter service in the next few hours,” Rio said.
He stressed that the work is carried out in a continuous and coordinated manner. “By incorporating megawatts, it will allow us to benefit the Zulian population and the entire nation,” he said.
The official also reiterated the commitment of the corporation's technical and professional staff to achieve the positive results that the population demands.
