Alejandro Terán: We started the reconstruction of 600 apartments in La Guaira

The National Government began the recovery of 20 buildings in the Brisas housing estate at La Guaira State Airport, which were not structurally damaged by the earthquakes of last June 24, said the governor of that entity, José Alejandro Terán.

“We are talking about the immediate reconstruction of 600 apartments to benefit 3,041 people who are currently in temporary camps but who will be able to return to their homes safely in a few weeks,” Terán said during a television contact with the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez.

The governor also explained that a team of structural engineers, appointed by the Presidential Commission for the Study of the Habitability of Affected Housing and Infrastructure, have inspected a total of 1,093 buildings, of which 426 have been rated with a green light and 303 with a yellow traffic light, representing 67% of buildings without structural damage.

In this regard, he explained that the National Executive deployed all the construction fronts of the Great Venezuela Renace Mission, so a construction camp was installed in the Mare Abajo sector of the Ministry of Popular Power for Housing.

“Also in the Brisa Airport sector, we have the Ministry of Public Works deployed with 158 workers, active 24 hours a day. We have 30 militiamen supporting the reconstruction efforts. In the La Lucha sector, which was one of the most impacted, we have the team from Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor, who have already set up their camp and we are there starting the reconstruction work. The Together Everything Is Possible team is deployed throughout the La Soublette sector, in the Catia La Mar parish, and the engineering corps of our glorious Armed Forces has been deployed to serve the Ana María Campos sector, at the entrance of the Clover,” said Terán, while emphasizing that the Government has provided a “record time of answer for those affected”.
