AN notified the Citizens' Power of the beginning of the 2024 legislative period

This Tuesday, 09, a committee of the National Assembly (AN), chaired by the deputy Noelí Pocaterra, notified the Citizens Power of the beginning of the Annual Period of Ordinary Sessions of the Legislature corresponding to 2024.

At the event, held at the headquarters of the Republican Moral Council (CMR), Pocaterra recalled that on January 5, the Parliament's Directive was ratified, for carrying out decent, humane and political reconciliation work, according to a press release published by the AN.

He indicated that with this act of notification to the Citizen Power, represented by the Republican Moral Council, the AN reiterates its institutionality and endorses its full functioning.

He also specified that the Board of Directors of the AN was composed “of two men and a young woman who are willing to continue creating, developing and building laws that benefit the people, politically, socially and economically.”

The committee of deputies was received by the president of the Republican Moral Council and Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab; the Comptroller General of the Republic in charge, Jhosnel Peraza and the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz.

For his part, Saab reiterated that the Legislative Branch has a Citizen Power for the defense of democracy, the stability of the Republic, and everything that serves for the prevalence of peace.

He affirmed that as a citizen competence, there is a commitment to promote education through a national plan that involves the strengthening of citizen and ethical values as Venezuela deserves.

The Comptroller General of the Republic, Jhosnel Peraza, offered a few words of welcome to parliamentarians who have been in constant coordination with the People's Power.

For his part, the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, said that the Parliament has a great challenge in consolidating peace and the independence of the Republic through the creation of instruments that allow the Executive and the people to consolidate the union they deserve as a free nation.

The committee was comprised of parliamentarians Grecia Colmenares, William Gil, José Cabellos, Nico Maniglia, Luis Eduardo Martínez and Miguel Salazar.
