The country's supply index stands at 98%, and 90% of the products are domestic, while the other 10% are imported, said the president of the National Association of Supermarkets and Self-Services (ANSA), Ítalo Atencio.
In statements replicated by the newspaper Últimas Noticias, Atencio pointed out that 99% of the transactions carried out in supermarkets are in bolivars, with card or mobile payments and only 1% are in foreign exchange.
He also explained that 77 supermarkets have been opened so far this year, of which 10 have been in the state of Zulia and another four in Monagas. He argued that the supermarket sector has been adjusting to different formats.
