Attorney General highlighted crime reduction between 2017 and 2022

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported a 63% reduction in homicide crimes between 2017 and 2022, according to information published on the website of a well-known national newspaper.

According to the publication in 2017 (before its arrival at the Public Ministry), the number of cases entering the Public Ministry was 30,082, while in 2022 it was 11,115.

In this regard, he explained that since the beginning of his administration, vehicle thefts have decreased by 90% and went from counting more than 36,700 cases in 2017 to 3,693 in 2022.

With regard to cases of minor bodily injury, he specified that there was a decrease of almost 51%, and in crimes of violence against women, it went from 36,139 cases to 12,509; which means a decrease of 65.4%.

Saab said that in all states, the ministry has a situation room deployed to process complaints made on social networks,” the portal reported.
