The Minister of Popular Power for
Tourism, Daniella Cabello, reported that 900 beds were enabled in the Los Caracas Holiday
City to serve families affected by the
earthquakes that hit the country last Wednesday.
According to information from Venezolana de
Televisión, she indicated that the complex functions as a temporary camp
for those who lost their homes, family members or means of livelihood.
At the same time, he noted that the hostel has been receiving victims for two days and
is currently hosting 673 people, distributed in 183 family groups.
He also specified that this space offers
accommodation, psychological care and recreational areas for children and
adults.
Cabello explained that the Government plans to
expand the capacity of the complex to receive between 2,500 and 3,000 people
by installing camps in the green areas of the place, a
deployment that, he said, has the support of the president in charge,
Delcy Rodríguez.
He indicated that families will remain in
these spaces temporarily while the process for the
allocation of housing progresses. In addition, he added that a
socio-productive census is being carried out to identify the work profiles of refugees and
coordinate future economic incentives together with the Ministry of
National Commerce, the Workers' Digital Bank and the Bank of Venezuela.
He reported that the Ministry for
Transportation activated a special route with two buses to guarantee
transportation between Los Caracas, La Guaira and Caracas. In addition, he highlighted the continuity
of the rescue and care efforts carried out by the authorities and security
agencies in the affected areas.
