Bolivarian Government enables the EU Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa as a temporary camp

The Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa Educational Unit, located in Los Ruices parish, has been formally set up as a temporary camp with the objective of providing protection, shelter and comprehensive assistance to families affected by the earthquakes of last June 24. This initiative is part of the institutional emergency deployment to transform school facilities into safe and decent environments for the population in situations of vulnerability.

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, confirmed the appropriateness of these spaces through the dissemination of audiovisual material on his Telegram channel. In his message, the parliamentarian highlighted the transformation of campus classrooms into spaces of hope and accompaniment to receive and embrace victims of natural contingency, on the premise that solidarity constitutes the main force for national recovery.

For her part, the director of the educational institution, María Lanza, detailed the logistical advances in the adaptation of the center, specifying that all the modules of the campus were meticulously equipped to function as temporary rooms. Lanza reported that the areas already have bunk beds, mattresses and bedding installed, ensuring that all staff are prepared to offer decent, affectionate and quality treatment to citizens who will spend the night in the place during this season.

The temporary shelter has specially equipped areas for primary medical care, including oral health services for children and older adults, reaffirming the commitment to the integral well-being of affected families.
