In La Guaira, the Bolivarian Government has set up ten temporary shelters to care for families affected by the two earthquakes that shook the country on June 24, said the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez.
Through a post on his Instagram channel, he explained that these spaces were set up in schools and sports facilities; one of them specialized for boys and girls who are alone, and the other for grandparents who are also alone.
“It is essential that we organize ourselves for the task and thus facilitate the mobility of specialized teams in the territory. The Catia Storage Center and the tent in La Carlota will be collection centers, and the José María Vargas Sports Center in La Guaira functions as the main logistics center for distributing donations. What we need most is water, clothes, diapers, baby formula and personal hygiene items,” he said.
In the same way, the Minister of Education also assured that the Executive continues to mobilize health teams and volunteers from all over the country to strengthen search and rescue efforts, as well as medical care.
