In the midst of the wave of violence unleashed in Ecuador, the Brazilian Federal Police placed itself at the disposal of the Government of Daniel Noboa to help mitigate the serious armed crisis that has taken to the streets of the South American country.

The director general of the Brazilian institution, Andrei Rodrigues, announced in an interview with the EFE agency that he also offered the assistance of the Police Community of America (AMERIPOL), as executive secretary of the organization, and the Brazilian representation in INTERPOL.

He stated that “much more than weapons and ammunition, intelligence is important”, stressing that the objective of the initiative is to achieve “a great environment of cooperation in America”, where the exchange of information and intelligence work are the initial basis of support.

In this regard, Rodrigues urged police attachés in Colombia and Peru “to accompany and follow closely all the movement in the region and the possible impacts on Brazil.”
