The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured that Chavism is ready to “pass over the opposition, it will give a fight in the elections that exist”, at any time this year.

In that sense, during the PSUV press conference, he explained that his comment has nothing to do with triumphalism, “that has to do with the reality that exists in the street, a redivided opposition, broken into a thousand pieces, without definitions and hanging on to hopes that will not be given to him.”

He also pointed out that he doesn't believe in characters like Luis Vicente León. “There are those who pay him surveys,” he said.

In addition, he recalled that the president of the country is elected by Venezuelans and Venezuelans. “The United States has nothing to do with it here, if they (the opposition) have to ask the United States for permission, that's another thing, but the elections in Venezuela, we Venezuelans and Venezuelans participate and we are going to win them,” he said.
