This Thursday, January 11, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured that the then captain Hugo Chávez, whom he met at the Army Military Academy, was a very persistent man and in his message he always highlighted the importance of military training and morale.
He emphasized that Commander Chávez was very insistent on values. “He wanted the perfection of what needed to be done. He said: There's time and there's food, until it works out.”
He stressed that to reach the military girl who rose up in the 80s, “it was common to talk about Bolívar, Zamora, here in this courtyard. A guard with him was almost infinite.”
This was highlighted by Cabello during the broadcast of Episode No. 4 of “With Maduro Podcast “, hosted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held at the Army Military Academy.
“The first thing he did when they gave him the military course was to put two flags in the Company Hall that said: Homeland or Death, they were the flags of Páez, that generated a stir (...) then he knew who Páez had been, he said.
He commented that this Company was named Los Centauros by Páez and when they asked him about the aforementioned military flags and he never complied with the order to withdraw them, “he never, ever took them away”.
