Hopefully the Venezuelan church hierarchy would join the efforts for peace and national reconciliation, even though this does not respond to the interests of the people, said the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
“Hopefully they will join the work of being good shepherds. Hopefully they will join the pilgrimage around the country that President Delcy Rodríguez is calling for an end to sanctions, instead of declaring as if they were a political party,” said Cabello.
During the usual weekly press conference of the red awning, he emphasized that the distance between the Church and the People has been so strong that it has caused other religions to proliferate within popular areas, such as evangelical Christians.
In this regard, he stressed that the Venezuelan people are religious, so he regretted that the church hierarchy is not up to that commitment.
