During the ceremony in honor of General Domingo Antonio Sifontes, held at the headquarters of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army in Fuerte Tiuna, Caracas, Diosdado Cabello stressed that imperialism has failed and will continue to be defeated in its intention to seize Venezuelan territory.

“The imperialist aggression repelled by General Domingo Antonio Sifontes in 1895 comes from the same representatives that our Commander Chávez met at the UN, they are the same ones that we are facing today and we are going to defeat,” he said.

He added that although Venezuelans do not practice revanchism or hate, “the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the People have demonstrated that, when it comes to defending the Homeland, they grow.”

These words came after the arrival of the caravan - from the state of Miranda - which was greeted with an emotional military act, followed by a tour that included the Paseo de la Nacionalidad and Los Próceres.

Last Saturday, January 6, after exhuming his remains in Tumremo, capital of the Sifontes municipality, Bolívar state, with a military parade, honors were paid to General Domingo Antonio Sifontes, who was the historical hero of the quest to expel the English from Venezuelan territory. With this ceremony, the transfer of his remains to the National Pantheon, Caracas, began.
