This Monday, April 13, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted the incoherence of the sectors of the Venezuelan extreme right that did not recognize President Nicolás Maduro, but now ask to declare their absolute fault and call for elections.

“They (the extreme right) have such a fragile memory, that they said that Edmundo González won the elections here on the 28th, they said so until 20 days ago, and now they are asking for elections because there is an absolute absence of President Nicolás Maduro. Well, didn't you say that Nicolás Maduro didn't win? And how are they now asking for the absolute absence of someone who didn't win? Consistency is not exactly the disease that afflicts you,” he said during the PSUV press conference.

He pointed out that this is the reason why no one believes in those sectors of the opposition. “ They adapt to the circumstances and see what gain they make, they leave principles aside, they forget everything. And that man, now what are you going to do with him, if, according to you, he had won the elections? Do they throw it down the pipe and let it go? Well, they threw it away a long time ago,” he added.

In addition, given the concern of the opposition sectors about the elections, he indicated that in Venezuela it has been demonstrated that electoral processes “do not solve problems, because every time they (the right) lose elections they enter a phase of conspiracy, of violence and of not recognizing the results.”

He also called on this opposition to practice coherence, “at some point in their lives”, with regard to those who have received amnesty and are walking like crazy asking for elections and trying to provoke violence.

In view of this, he specified that the elections in Venezuela will be as mandated by the Constitution. “That day the revolutionary forces will be prepared to win as we have always won, united,” he said, stressing that the Revolution always emerges stronger from these processes.
