Cabello paid tribute to General Domingo Antonio Sifontes: All the recognition to this hero of the Fatherland! (+photos)

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, stressed that General Domingo Antonio Sifontes, known as the “Terror of the English”, did so successfully when he had to defend his homeland.
“He defended it against the permanent aggressors of free peoples, imperialism disguised in its different forms and figures: Spanish empire, British empire, North American empire, in the end they are the same, they are driven by the same interests,” he said.
This was stated by Cabello, in the spaces of the Hall of Honor of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army, where the remains of Sifontes will be in the Burning Chapel, where the authorities and the Venezuelan people will be able to pay honors.
“Honor to those who deserve honor,” he said.
Cabello said that today the People of Venezuela bless General Domingo Antonio Sifontes. “The blessings of the Peoples because bringing this soldier here to the Hall of Honor is not just the task of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces but of our people,” he said.
He also stressed that just like “the issue of our Guyana Esequiba, is not only the task of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces, it is the task of our entire people, the defense of that territory.”
Cabello stressed that imperialism has failed and will continue to be defeated in its intention to seize Venezuelan territory.
“The imperialist aggression repelled by General Domingo Antonio Sifontes in 1895 comes from the same representatives that our Commander Chávez met at the UN, they are the same ones that we are facing today and we are going to defeat,” he said.
He added that although Venezuelans do not practice revanchism or hatred, “the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the People have demonstrated that, when it comes to defending the Homeland, they grow.”
Diosdado Cabello reiterated his desire that the government of Guyana understand that the path for the territorial dispute with Venezuela is dialogue and not provocations.
“Hopefully the government of Guyana understands that the path that must be followed is dialogue and peace, at a time when the US government announces the visit of the Undersecretary of Defense of the United States, while the British government sent a warship and had to go, but it's a provocation, just another one,” he said.
