As part of the pilgrimage that began last April 19, the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, led a meeting in the auditorium of the Experimental University of Los Llanos Ezequiel Zamora (UNELLEZ), Cojedes state. During his speech, he emphasized that the key to stability lies in the productive effort of the regions.

“The path that will lead us to the recovery of this country is to work in production. Cojedes has a potential that other states would like, but it also has a noble and hardworking people that add to that potential,” he said.

He also explained that any investment must generate a cycle of benefits that includes direct and indirect employment for the community. When referring to the timber sector and teak plantations in the area, he insisted on environmental responsibility under a scheme of reciprocity. “If a company works with wood, it has to plant trees as it should be; if you cut one, you have to plant the equivalent. It's giving and giving. How many jobs does that create? “, he said.

Cabello reflected on the need to overcome dependence on the rentier model, assuring that Cojedes's strength is sufficient to energize its economy without being tied exclusively to hydrocarbons and indicated that although it is up to the entity to receive the resources derived from national wealth, its true autonomy stems from its domestic production capacity.

The sector vice-president urged businessmen, workers and peasants to present formal proposals that translate into real solutions for the people of Cojedeño. He emphasized that these days must transcend communication to become tangible events.

“I ask that this is not an activity to fill the television screen; here there is greater potential for Venezuela to fly free,” he said and reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to the integral development of the country from its regions.
