Caracas Botanical Garden will be converted into the first Urban Bird Observatory in Venezuela

The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, announced that, together with a team of national researchers, they are working on a project to turn the Caracas Botanical Garden into the first Urban Bird Observatory in Venezuela.
“The objectives focus on the study, monitoring and observation of urban birds, as an essential contribution to the mitigation of climate change,” said the minister through her Telegram channel.
He said that the project “is led by the Doctor of Science, with a mention in Ecology, Sandra Giner, who is also a researcher and teacher at the Laboratory of Bird Biology and Conservation, of the Institute of Zoology and Tropical Ecology of the Faculty of Sciences of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV)”, accompanied by professors Miguel Mata, Carlos Verea and José Renato De Nóbrega.
Jiménez pointed out that “the study is framed in the Great Science, Technology and Innovation Mission Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán oriented to the 6T and is called: The birds of the Caracas Botanical Garden and their joint benefits in the first Urban Bird Observatory in Venezuela.”
